Welcome to the Circle

There’s a certain tension that does manage to creep its way through this film… and that’s about the best I can say for it. It’s generally a kind of slow, rather confusing film that I’m not convinced has any deeper meaning. I think it thinks it does though… I’m just not sure all the random gibberish means much and I’m not sure they could explain it.

The film is about a creepy cult located in some random place out in the wilderness. Kind of sort of its about a dad and his daughter who are out camping and get attacked (maybe) by a bear. The cult members find them and get them better… whether they will be able to leave seems in question.

There’s more going on than that but a lot of its a head-scratcher. Characters are played by multiple actors, cult members say cryptic, nonsense things that might be profound but I doubt it, and we jump between protagonists at a whim. I’m honestly not sure all that happens… I just went with it after a time once I realized it wasn’t a movie meant to be understood.

Maybe if I watch it again… but that’s not gonna happen. I’d skip this one.
