Honestly struggling to find anything positive or even negative to say about this Netflix Halloween offering. Its not terrible but it’s kind of dull and unoriginal. It’s well enough acted… and…
The flick is about a driver who picks up two rich party girls on their way to five parties in one night. As it turns out, they are vampires on a mission… it seems there are five vampire clans (and one human one) feuding over L.A. territory. The driver gets tangled up in the political power struggle… and maybe falling in love.
Various vampire factions squabbling over territory is not super common in vampire lore but not particularly original either. And this movie doesn’t do much original with it. I guess they hire their big name talent to play the vampire rulers… and by big name talent, I mean Alfie Allen and Megan Fox (who has a Bruce-Willis-sleepwalking-through-a-movie sized roll in this flick).
The movie is at its best when it focuses on the driver and the hot vampire kill squad in his back seat. And even they aren’t as interesting as the movie thinks they are.
Some of the camera work is interesting. There’s rotating cameras that liven up the visuals here and there. It’s method of delivering backstory in the beginning had nice imagery.
I mean… not really much to say. This movie is just in and out of my head faster than a vampire turning into a bat.
