Crew is a high-energy, stylish Indian heist film about a trio of flight attendants working for a bankrupt airline. Having not been paid in some time, they look to more criminal, you might even sage smuggly, opportunities to get what’s owed them.

It’s a fun, funny, frisky comedy/drama thriller with crackling energy and a good sense of humor. It’s certainly not all perfect as the final heist winds up in two parts, with one of them ultimately a pointless waste of time that drags the film’s pacing down (but I guess it was too stylish a sequence to resist).

I don’t know the leading ladies very much (I have seen two of them in other films) but they are quite good taking the lead in this women-led crime comedy. Each plays their characters and backstories well and they generally work well together. Though it was sometimes a challenge to keep track of everything with a script so full of subtitles.

The film thrives on its excess, ritzy costuming, and style… plus an enthusiastic soundtrack that leans into gold, more gold and gold. Lifestyles of the rich and crooked, you might say.

It’s a good, fun crackling film with a little slow-down here and there. But it’s a good a good eat-the-rich class revenge fantasy that’s worth a watch.
