Rolled the dice on The Fix due to a pretty interesting sounding synopsis. The air has grown toxic and millions will die without their gas masks or a novel chemical being distributed by an evil corporation. A model takes a mysterious drug that changes her in mysterious ways. It was described to me as sci-fi body horror and that sounded tantalizing.
The movie, however, is not not so tantalizing. It certainly has ideas and ambitions that wildly exceed their limited budget and capability as filmmakers. The acting is pretty terrible, the ADR overly prevalent, and the pacing pretty sluggish.
It has a smattering of good ideas and some decent practical makeup effects, though not as good as I’d been lead to believe. Mostly the film is a half-way decent idea with a flawed execution limited even further by its budget.
Wish I could say it was a pleasant surprise, but it’s too leaden and tedious to even go that far.
