Alarum

Alarum didn’t have a lot of potential but I figured with Scott Eastwood and Sylvester Stallone, it might be more than a geezer teaser trap. I mean, Stallone might just be in it for the paycheck but I figured Eastwood might put in the effort.

It stars Eastwood and Willa Fitzgerald as ex-spies on the lam from whatever agencies they worked for. When a DEA plane crashes nearby, they get involved in… whatever this movie’s about. Drugs. Mercenaries. Shootouts. Whatever.

This is a bad bland action flick. There’s nothing to say for it other than a bit of stunt casting that goes nowhere. Eastwood’s character relies on his relationship with his wife and friendship with Stallone. The problem is, he has no chemistry with either the wife nor the bored movie star. I like to think Eastwood is a better actor and everyone in this flick realized what tripe they were making and gave up trying.

The story doesn’t matter and the action is pedantic and boring. Plus it abuses ridiculous muzzle flash effects so even if I started to get into the shooting bits, the bad CGI kept taking me out.

Nothing worth talking about here. Moving on.
