Banger

Banger is a crime comedy set in the world of DJs and dance music… a topic I have very little real world interest in. So why watch if so uninvested? Well, it’s up to the writer and direct to make me interested… any movie with any premise can be a good movie. And, you know, it’s free on Netflix.

It’s about a washed-up DJ who is tasked by the police to go undercover and help them with a crime. Since he’s not exactly on the A List, he has trouble being recognized, gaining entry to clubs, and being taken seriously. Insert laugh here.

Not honestly a bad premise and if you are into this kind of music and DJs in general, you might find a good time. I’m sure there are some references to the material I was missing that you’ll find clever or hilarious.

But me? I got nothing out of this film. And, by nothing, I don’t just mean I didn’t laugh, I could barely focus long enough to care. But also it’s so dull that I can’t think up a good jokey takedown or enough disdain to write anything more than this paragraph about him indifferent I was to it.

Moving on.
