If yer in a mood for a kind of dumb throwback yet kind of original action flick, you might check out Big Game, a streaming movie that was released earlier this year. It seems terrorists have shot down Air Force One and the president is ejected into a dangerous terrain and only one man can rescue him! And, yes, that’s kind of the plot of Escape from New York… but in Big Game, the president is Samuel L. Jackson, the area he lands in is the wilderness of Finland, and the only person who can save him is a 13 year old Finnish boy out for his first solo hunt.
It’s a decent action flick with a decent enough budget and production value given that it looks like it was a European production probably filmed in Finland. It’s a little distracting that Samuel L. Jackson is playing a wimpy president since, you know, he’s Samuel L. Jackson. But other than that and maybe a little less gunfire than something like White House Down, it’s an all right flick.
