Went to see the new stop-motion family movie The Boxtrolls and boy did I hate it. It’s almost enough to say the technical marvel that is the actual craft of making the movie with stop-motion puppets and whatnot makes the movie worth seeing but in reality it makes watching a documentary of the making interesting. Because the actual movie is tedious, unfunny, and unoriginal (with a tiny bit of dialog by the female lead amusing… who could hate a line like, “Did the boxtrolls kidnap you and let you watch them eat your family? I mean… MAKE you watch them eat your family?”)
