Went blind into the movie Child 44 which stars Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, and Noomi Rapace. It’s set in 1950s Soviet Union with Hardy as a member of the Soviet goon squad (secret police) who is investigating a child murderer in a society where murder is a symptom of the decadent west… so clearly these aren’t murders, so says his superiors. It’s about dancing around the Soviet political machine while trying to be a good man doing the right thing.

It’s an interestsing premise and setting that kind of bogs down and I wish had been more interesting. More compelling.
