City of Ember is about an underground city where the remnants of humanity live and have lived for hundreds of years – to the point that everyone has forgotten that there is an outside world. But the generator running the city is dying and no one knows what to do.
It’s essentially a kids movie but its surprisingly watchable. Definitely pretty awesome in the first 30-40 minutes. Creates an impending sense of doom as it becomes clearer that the city is dying and no one has a clue as to what to do. Second half is good enough.
Definitely worth a rental and safe for the kids.
