Colors of Evil: Red is a Netflix detective/mystery/serial killer investigation film set in Poland. A young woman is found murdered in the same fashion as a killer with the same M.O. is paroled. This sets off an investigation led by a cop and the dead girl’s mother… which includes flashbacks to how and why the girl was killed.
This is a pretty solid one of these murder investigation type films… though it goes in criminal directions I wasn’t expecting. There are some solid suspense/thriller moments and a bit of corruption for the neo noire fans in the audience. I was pretty interested to see how it would all work out. Mostly.
I kind of lost the plot a little in the third act as the film seemed to go longer than it needed to. Of course, they hadn’t fully solved the crime yet and still I was wondering why it was being dragged out. This is probably more on me as most people would likely remain engaged.
But I still enjoyed most of it and mostly enjoyed the resolution even if I wished I’d been more into it by then. A good serial killer type detective film.
