Went to to see the new horror movie Generic Haunted House Movie… ermmm… I mean The Conjuring. There was no conjuring going on in a movie called The Conjuring… just a haunted house movie that you’ve seen before… a lot. 85% tedious haunted house movie, 10% exorcism movie, 5% somewhat interesting… and 99% bullcrap (“based on a true story” with real-life paranormal investigators who were also responsible for the lies about the Amityville Horror… movie ends with a yuk-yuk elbow-in-ribs moment about them saying they need to investigate a haunting on Long Island). Anyhow, it’s not a terrible movie… but just a routine, run-of-the-mill, no-creativity spook show with the occasional decently creepy moment and a solid, aim-for-the-masses PG-13 rating.
