Checked out this study of race relations between four or five different characters on a college campus. It’s interesting, passingly funny and is trying to make intelligent points. I kind of came away from it feeling a little cold though despite some good performances and messaging. The movie was a little on point/obvious at certain times when I think subtly would have worked better but also because the end message seemed very mixed. Maybe that was intentional – the point that these things aren’t (ahem) simply black and white. If that was the goal, kudos. If it was meant to be more direct, then it failed for me.
