Saw the CGI family-friendly cartoon Epic… about a tiny society of forest warriors duking it out over good (growth) vs. evil (decay). It’s a decent little movie – slightly violent – that kids will probably enjoy. Some of the writing was clever but it wasn’t consistent… and the voice cast is surprisingly good. Even the comic relief of an out-of-place player slug didn’t grate on my nerves… probably because Aziz Ansari doing his his Parks and Rec character and the guy who played the Irish cop in Bridesmaids are both just fun and charming. Overall, a marginal thumbs-up.
