Extraterrestrial is a decent (surprisingly decent) cabin-in-the-woods movie where the monster ruining their vacation is (surprise!) an alien. The movie is almost charming in that it is completely sincere in its desire to tell the most generic story. Not only is it yet another cabin in the woods movie, it’s also borrowing every alien abduction story ever and it seems to think it’s being original. It’s not… but it tries real hard to be convincing, especially on a fairly low budget.

I won’t lie and say it’s great but compared to a lot of recent horror movies, it’s kinda good.
