So here’s a potential new (and disturbing?) trend at the movies… so a lot of animated movies have animated shorts in front of them… that’s fine. That’s pretty typical. Today, because I’m genetically stupid and have pretty much seen everything else, I went to see the teen comedy Fun Size (which was very bad) and it had a full length (and unrelated) music video in front of it. I guess that makes sense – target market for a teen movie might be a music video and it’s not like people are catching this stuff on tv any longer (though you’d think YouTube would make up for it). Anyhow, so I got the pleasure of watching Carly Rae Jepsen’s video for her song This Kiss (you know, the song that isn’t Call Me Maybe)…. It was better than the movie, at it turned out… even if the movie was clearly written by an old fart who loves Beastie Boys/License to Ill and had written his 16 year old teen girl to love them too. You Gotta Fight… For Your Right… To Put The Music of Your Youth into a 2012 Film!!!
