Saw the new movie Gravity, the new Sandra Bullock / George Clooney disaster/survival in space movie and it’s fantastic. Best movie of the year (so far). Unbelievable shots and FX mix with great acting, terrifying and thrilling moments all based around believable physics of space flight and microgravity. The movie cheats here and there (I learn later) but it was all d done in service of making a compelling movie so I give it a pass (it’s more than most movies bother doing).
This is a damn smart movie told logically and understandably. In case you aren’t aware from the amazing trailers, Bullock and Clooney are astronauts on a spacewalk when things go very wrong and they are stranded with a damaged shuttle and damaged International Space Station, running low on oxygen, running low on fuel, and running low on options. Not knowing how this story ends was fantastic… wishing I knew the aftermath after it ends is maddening.
Great film. Go see it.
