I think the Inside of the Mind of a Cat is a scattering of loose change, a couple of raggedy mice toys, a stray laser pointer, and a cow bell that clangs randomly. But this Netflix documentary wants to explore it deeper using “cutting-edge” new scientific research.
Which I think consists of scientists playing with cats a lot.
This very short documentary is not the best such documentary about cats that I’ve seen (or read). It’s ok… kind of does a light dusting of cat physiology, cat behaviors, cat communication, and a leaf-frog of cats throughout history. I’ve seen it all before and in greater detail… and I’ve seen it even done better in a million and one YouTube videos.
But it’s not the worst time you can have for an hour as long as you don’t expect hard science and anything more than an excuse to focus a camera on a lot of cute cats. You might even learn something… if this is your first cat-like documentary.
