A Christmas-themed slasher with a central gimmick that ultimately goes nowhere. This flick had potential but it largely just settled on being another generic slasher.
The flick is about a slasher dressed like a Christmas tree angel (of sorts) and how our lead wishes she’d never been born. And she gets her wish and no one recognizes her… which is unfortunate since she knows who the masked killer is.
Yeah, It’s a Wonderful Knife is a play on It’s a Wonderful Life… only with 24% more murder. But beside the title and the magical gimmick, there’s not much about the idea that matters. It’s still largely just an average slasher set at Christmas, only our lead has to convince everyone she knows them.
I wish I enjoyed this film more. I think there’s something there than you might connect with if you like holiday movies in an ironic way or just love, love, love any kind of slasher film. I wanted more. I wanted the familiar premise to be used better.
