The Judge is Robert Downey Jr.’s latest film – costarring Robert Duval, a super-cute moppet playing Downey’s daughter, Billy Bob Thornton, Vera Farmiga, and others. It’s about high-powered defense attourney who goes home for his mother’s funeral and winds up having to defend his judge dad in a hit and run trial. It’s a good movie for acting – an actor’s movie all the way. It’s a little long though and has a lot of dangling subplots that never resolve… but you could argue that that’s more realistic than the courtroom stuff. It’s a fairly good movie… not one I’ll run out to see again or offer as a strong recommendation…. but decent.
