Krazy House

Krazy House is what you get when you splice the DNA of Wandavision, Darren Aronofsky’s Mother!, Too Many Cooks, Married with Children, and… I dunno… <waves hands wildly> some crazy violent mob flick. Use Crispr to unite them into an unholy (or possibly holy) abomination and you have this odd flick.

It starts out as a typical sitcom with only hints of things being off-kilter. Nick Frost and Alicia Silverstone play the parents of a couple of teens when a trio of Russians show up to fix the plumbing. And they don’t leave. And they keep not leaving. And then things spiral as reality collapses and the house gets quite disorganized.

Maximum credit for the dedication to something weird… a few points deducted for having watched Too Many Cooks all the way through and said, “that… only even longer!”. I was into it for maybe the first act and then I started to lose interest but the film kept going anyway.

It’s technically a horror/comedy but maybe trippy criminal religious satire might be more accurate? I dunno… it sure is something and it’s getting some extra points for going out of its way to be weird.

I can’t say I enjoyed the whole movie but I certainly give it credit for doing its own thing. And that’s worth something.
