Look Both Ways is a new Netflix film in which the multiverse has a say about the life of a college graduate. When checking the results of a pregnancy test, it’s positive in one ‘verse and negative in the other. Her life splits… one version of her heading to LA to follow her dream while the other stays home to have her child.
If this movie was trying to say something profound about the choices we make in our lives, it was a little lost on me. Sure, both life choices have different rewards and problems… alert the media. So it’s just a film… a light drama, a little romance, a little comedy… it doesn’t have to be Earth-shattering in its meaning.
Unfortunately, I thought the movie opened ok… passably interesting. But the longer it goes telling two separate but not particularly engaging life stories, the less interest I had. The movie kind of lost me, though I was able to hang onto some threads.
Not really my cup of tea. I’m sure some people will find this far more engrossing than I did. But, for me, it just barely hangs together… but it does hang.
