Love in Taipei is a Paramount+ rom-com that is so harmless that it may as well not exist. It does nothing interesting, it’s not funny, it has characters that are uninteresting, and I might as well not have watched it.
It’s about an American girl whose parents emigrated from Taiwan and want her to attend a cultural appreciation class in Taipei before college. She wants to be a dancer (not a doctor) so she takes the time to find herself… and date two different hunky guys.
Hmm. What to say? There were moments where I engaged with the girl on her party-based journey of self-discovery. The actress is bright and sunshiney. She has a cute moment or two with the boys and with her artist aunt. And I guess the move didn’t kick my cat or yell at my dog…
But otherwise… eh… it exists and you might get something slight out of it… or not.
