The Perfect Guy is yet another stalker / domestic suspense movie (think Fatal Attraction, The Crush, The Boy Next Door, etc.) – this time a woman breaks up with her commitment-phobic boyfriend of two years, meets a great (maybe even perfect?) guy who then turns out to be (da-DA-DUUUUM!) a psycho who proceeds to stalk her when she breaks it off. You’ve seen this movie before – it follows all the drum-beats of similar movies but it does it without enough suspense and, barring that, without enough trashy humor. I give it a tiny bit of credit: the last act did change things up slightly and allow our terrorized female victim the ability to give back as much as she’s received. Not enough to save the movie but at least it was something.
