Rise of the Planet of the Apes was a surprisingly good movie… exciting, a little thoughtful, and amazing to look at (thems some smart ape thinkins). People actually gasped and applauded in the theater so I know they were all into it. I suppose, if I have to quibble, it tries to tie things in with the original Planet of the Apes but (and to be fair some of the original Apes films did this too) it messes with the history presented by the original. But, ignoring that nitpick, it’s a pretty great flick.
