The Road is one heck of a depressing movie. Turns out that’ll happen in a fairly realistic depiction of the end of the world. The visuals (the grey, dreary visuals) of this mysterious end time was very well done and the whole affair was just brutal.
The plot is pretty simple… a man and his boy wander what’s left of the country, trying to survive in this bleak aftermath. It’s well acted with cold necessity and desperation.
Part of me wishes they actually explained the event that caused the end to happen but I guess the fact it happened is more important than whatever razzle dazzle cause they could think up.
