Super 8… it just doesn’t work as well as it should. It’s not a bad movie… but it’s not as good as I’d hoped given it’s director and its obvious desire to emulate great 80s Spielberg flicks. It doesn’t gel and there’s underdeveloped plot points that bugged me. And the big secret whatsit / alien / monster is startlingly unoriginal and predictable… and a little confused thematically. Elle Fanning (Dakota’s sister) is amazing though.
