Well, I guess I enjoyed Tall Girl 2 more than the scintillating original. Which is to say, I didn’t particularly like it but at least I found it more relatable. A little more cliché too, I suppose.
The titular tall girl has gained popularity and gotten the lead in a school play. But this doesn’t make her boyfriend happy and there’s another new cute guy in the play with eyes for her.
I guess the idea of social anxiety over the school play and generic teen romance problems are just a little more relatable than “I’m tall. Woe is me”. Which is a cruel thing to say… everyone’s pain is important to them but I didn’t connect with it. Here we have something more run-of-the-mill and, thus, a little more relatable.
Which isn’t to say I’m jumping for joy. The movie is still pretty undercooked and underwhelming. The acting is fine, the actors reasonably charming. It’s not very good but at least its not the worst.
