The Transporter: Refueled is either the continuation of the Jason Statham action chase series or a reboot… and having seen the movie, I’m not sure which it is. Also sure it doesn’t matter. This one stars Ed Skrein, best know for playing Daario Naharis in Game of Thrones before quitting to make this movie. Hah.
This is a genuinely bad movie. But it’s also genuinely unremarkable in a way that I’m going to have basically forgotten it by tomorrow. It’s only occasionally so-bad-it’s-funny and only occasionally does it have any of the verve or fun of the first two Transporter flicks. Instead, it has a few decent cars stunts and some really bad stunt-y fist fight sequences in a plot where vaguely defined evil Eastern Europeans traffic in dastardly criminal activity. And our hero must be the driver and is *gasp* gets in over his head (but, really, he’s so awesome, nobody can really win against him – limitations? Never heard of ’em).
This is a bad movie and should be avoided by all, but especially by fans of the original movies. And anyone who might be offended at the Audi product placement (seriously, that car runs into other cars, knocks over fire hydrants, etc. and never gets a scratch).
