Caught (on streaming) the pitch black comedy / horror (thing) The Voices… starring Ryan Reynolds as a deranged bath tub packager who is so far off his meds he kind of accidentally starts killing people… ok… fine, sometimes his asshole cat talks him into it… and maybe the disembodied head in the fridge has its say too. Of course, his dog assures him he’s a good boy so there’s at least someone on his side.

This is a dark comedy that sometimes sways a little far into disturbing as his body count racks up… I think they got the tone just wrong enough that the movie gets a little distasteful at times. I can’t say I recommend the movie unless you are super in love with Ryan Reynolds (or Gemma Arterton or Anna Kendrick) or don’t mind some sick and twisted comedy.

I’m on the fence, close to jumping off.
