Good, solid action flick with minimal (and wobbly) sci-fi… it’s really just an excuse to have a “what if Los Angeles as invaded” plot… could have been N. Koreans, Chinese, E.T, or the reverse vampires for all it really mattered. Plot and characters? Not really necessary – this is about marines who kick ass and probably will be used as a recruitment tool (you know, in case of alien invasion). What it did, it did well. A little shaky cam going on but ultimately most of the action was coherent (which is always a good… and rare… thing).

Much better than that OTHER aliens invade LA film Skyline.
