Unforgettable (2017)

Also saw the oh-so-generic and generically titled Unforgettable. A movie title so bad it could be about anything AND so terrible because it doesn’t relate to anything in the movie. This is a totally paint-by-numbers domestic horror movie along the lines of Single White Female, Fatal Attraction, The Crush, The Boy Next Door, etc. You’ve seen it before done better in good movies and bad.

The film stars Rosario Dawson as a woman who moves in with a recently divorced father of a young girl. His ex is played by Katherine Heigl in full on ice-queen crazy WASP mode. Hiegl proceeds to toy with Dawson, making her life miserable and creating suspicion and paranoia in the husband.

90% of this movie is unwatchable, repetitive dreck that you’ve seen before and don’t need to see again. But, to my surprise, I thought the (predictable) end sequence was well directed and fairly suspenseful. It rose to the level of mediocre instead of remaining total garbage. It doesn’t save the movie, of course… but it’s at least something.

Look, no reason to see this movie. Maybe if you are trashed and looking to hoot and holler at the trash other people make, it could be a fun time with a bottle of wine and some friends. Not my experience sitting in the theater though.
