The Curse of Bridge Hollow is a Disney Channel-like film on Netflix. It’s a PG kids Halloween film in the vein of Goosebumps, Hocus Pocus, and a bunch of similar children’s flicks. No crime there. Or at least not one that can’t be gotten out of with time served.
A city family moves to a small town that is really really into Halloween decorations and a local legend. When that legend returns and wakes up all the zombies, witches, and ghoulies decorating the yards, the family and some local kids have to fight back (in a PG way).
Kelly Rowland and Marlon Wayans play the parents and a Wayans in the mix might give you an idea of how broad the comedy gets. The daughter – and the lead of the movie – goes to Priah Ferguson who plays Lucas’ feisty sister on Stranger Things. If this is her chosen bailiwick, then more power to her. She’s brings a pretty good energy to her role.
This is all right. I’ve seen and been subjected to worse. It’s probably something kids will just eat up before graduating to actual scary movies (and Snickers bars). But it’s good enough (PG) Halloween fun.
