Five guys go on a hike in a (German) forest and wind up hunted by a mysterious figure. I think I’ve seen this plot before and it seems like the easiest thing to do to throw random actors into the woods and let them wander around. I’m unimpressed by the majority of this flick and its too easy to see how it got made.

There are a handful of reasonably suspenseful scenes and the (surprisingly early) reveal of the killer is semi-interesting. But it’s not enough when the dudes being hunted are a combination of boring or annoying (mostly boring). We get some flashbacks that are supposed to round at least one of the characters out… but it really doesn’t help. Add in a whiff of an ending, and this is just hard to sit through.

I’d avoid this one… and watch better wilderness survival movies.
