Dangerous Lies

Watched a new Netflix original (with a forgettable title) named Dangerous Lies. Not a movie that will set the world on fire but it’s a tight, tense little thriller.

A down-on-their-luck couple takes care of an old man in his opulent home. When he suddenly dies, they start to make discoveries in the house… discoveries that tempt them and their ethics. And then strangers start to creep around and the police get suspicious.

I enjoyed this little movie. It’s not going to change the world… it’s basically just a lurid little pot-boiler with no grandiose ideals. It’s just a low-key good take on a suspense flick. It gets away with this by having appealing actors playing good-natured characters who you want to do the right thing. Or at least, not make too many mistakes navigating a set of mysterious circumstances.

You could do worse than watch this little flick. It is just a basic thriller/suspense film but what it does, it does well. I enjoyed the actors and went with the kind of goofy mystery and problems that could best be solved just by calling the cops. And, hey, it’s on Netflix.
