Lover, Stalker, Killer

I don’t make a habit of watching gallons of Netflix true crime docs… and yet I find myself reviewing one. It’s pretty good, engrossing, and entertaining but it feels like I just watched an embarassing reality show on network tv.

This one is about some random dude who somehow gets embroiled in a stalker scenario. He’s got too many women in his life interested in him and at least one of them is crazytown. The film follows what went down and interviews the guy plus a bevy of law enforcement who helped track down the criminal.

I enjoyed this doc on a simple, salacious level… but saying the twists and turns and big reveals of a doc were fascinating just makes me wish I’d watched a film adaptation of the story, not a dime-a-dozen true crime retelling.

But, despite that, it’s a reasonably engrossing and fascinating watch. It’s a little too long and has a little too much flash and re-enactments, but it’s watchable. Entertaining enough even with so many empty calories.
