Paint

What if Bob Ross as played by Owen Wilson. That’s it. That’s the joke. Hope you laughed because there’s 90 minutes of that knee-slapper.

Paint is about a guy with curly hair who hosts a painting show on a local PBS station. Everyone loves his show and all the ladies love him and his well-appointed van.

If you’ve ever watched Bob Ross, then imagine his show for 90 minutes as a comedy. Again… that’s it. That’s the joke. Just 90 minutes of tediously unfunny monotony, at the end of which, you don’t even have a happy little tree.

This movie feels like someone said “Bob Ross as played by Owen Wilson” and then went on vacation. It’s so aggressively boring and lacks any comedy chops. One of those comedies where you can’t imagine anyone on set thought this was funny… and if they did, it makes you wonder how they made anything previously funny since they apparently don’t know what comedy is.

It’s bad. It’s boring. It’s tedious. It’s unfunny. It’s Bob Ross as a comedy. Moving on with my life.
