George Takei fans might be interested in the new documentary To Be Takei… a documentary about (derp) George Takei… his experience as a child in the US Japanese internment camps, early career, Star Trek career, bad hour-long tv career, politics, his relationship with his husband, and major Facebook-iness. It’s not a great documentary but there are some interesting moments and it’s overall a good (but not great) film… though it has that feeling like they could just as well made a Betty White movie (as in: quick – that older celebrity is having a come-back on the Internet. Make a film. Next documentary will be about bacon!)
